On Saturday night at 11:45 I was stood in the cold at the start line for Europe's Toughest Mudder. An 8 hour race from midnight to 8am over extreme obstacles including ice bath plunges, electricity, 10ft walls, monkey bars and a heap more. I was nervous and excited as the clock approached 12. And then the countdown started, 5,4, 3, 2, 1.... The flares were lit and we were off. Off into the blackness of night we went, with 1000 other runners testing ourselves against the beast that was Europe's Toughest Mudder.
The topic of weight loss is always hot in January! Too much festive cheer over Xmas, New Year's resolutions, holidays booked and with that fears about stripping down! I get that! I also get that there is so much confusion about how to do that! Things like sugar is evil, fat is evil ,shakes are bad, diets are bad, breakfast is the most important meal, fasting is best, running is good, running is bad! And that's the tip of the ice berg! Then it hit me! What you eat is A LOT like how you spend your salary! Read on to find out the SIMPLEST way to understand weight loss!
Many people go to the gym to try and lose weight but are they actually wasting their time? You may be surprised to hear me say, as a personal trainer, that exercise is highly ineffective as a weight loss strategy! Yep, all those hours you spend sweating in your lycra, running, cycling lifting weights and the rest could have almost zero effect. Let me explain.....
I recently sat down with a client to record her final results after her 8 week body transformation
And her weight had dropped 4lbs
She was a little disappointed!
But hey 1/2 a pound a week is still better than most (particularly after Xmas and New Year when most have GAINED)
She also lost 10cm off her waist and 12cm off her hips!
Once i told her that her face changed!
All the "hard" work paid off
I say "hard" because she still ate chocolate, still had alcohol, but we focused on eating meat, fish, veg, potatoes, rice, fruit, eggs 80% of the time
^^^^You know, actual foods
I also asked her what other changes had happened
Weirdly she said her nails are growing a lot faster and are a lot stronger
She is sleeping better
Has much more energy
And the home workouts she is doing are getting easier <---- She is fitter and stronger
Oh and her hair dresser said her hair condition was fantastic too
So many benefits
The weight on the scales is just one small part
And if you want the same results as her you can sign up here
And if you want 121 nutrition coaching too, this is your link
But I only have one spot available for 121....

We are all busy!
I have two jobs, two kittens and fortunately only one "better half" that take up a huge portion of my time. On top of that I need to find time to exercise, watch my favourite TV programmes (currently Empire, Apprentice and Homeland) and get some sleep.
So finding time to cook healthy tasty food, you may think, would be a hard task...
However I use these 7 tips to help save time:
As i am getting married next year I am being forced to watch Don'tTell The Bride
(And I secretly like it but let's keep that our secret!)
The most recent one that I watched, I heard the bride say something that kinda got my back up
When I was younger and first started uni I weighed in at 9 and a half stone!
No matter what I did I couldn't put on weight
^^^Yes I know I was THAT person you hated
I wanted to put on weight
Not get fat, but be bigger
I was the smallest one of my mates and pushed off the ball too easily in footie
But I didn't roll around 17 times like the professionals do!
No matter what I did I couldn't put on muscle
I was a keen runner and loved my sport
(I could also eat anything I liked and not get FAT! <<Yep you reaslly don't like me know!)
After about 2 years of trying my mate introduced me to weights
And after a very embarrassing moment pinning myself to the bench with the 20kg bar, I began to notice results
The reason I wasn't getting different results....
I was doing the same thing as I always had done
And as the super intelligent dude Albert Einstein said
Never a truer word spoken, all the times of eating rubbish and doing lots of cardio based training was scuppering my attempts to get RESULTS
I wasn't giving my muscles the right fuel
(Think how well your car would run if you put the wrong fuel in!)
I was doing exercises that didn't create muscle growth
Sure I was fit but that wasn't what I wanted
I see the same insanity with weight loss!
Crash diets, lots of cardio, quick weight loss and then back it comes with a vengeance
Doing the same thing that you FAILED at last time, blaming yourself for it's failure
Have you ever stopped to consider maybe it wasn't YOU maybe, just maybe, it was the PLAN!
I have a plan that is GUARANTEED to work
What does that mean?
I admit the plan will not work for everyone
But it will for 99% of you if you apply the methods
(I can't get you results if you refuse to change - no plan can do that)
But if you are in the 1% you get your money back!
I have too much integrity to take money from people for whom my plan doesn't work
Fortunately I have never had to refund anything
As my programme is AWESOME!

So yesterday I ran a 12 mile obstacle race with 2 of my clients
It's an event called Tough Mudder
And is basically a run through lots of mud with some electric shock wires, tear gas, fire and ice thrown in at regular intervals
And when we started on the line the nerves were kicking it!
It's safe to say the girls were scared
There was a smell in the air that wasn't the countryside!
But the main thing is they faced their fears and ran it
And they actually enjoyed it
^^^We also raised some cash for our chosen charity the Super Josh Brain Tumour Charity
If you remember my email yesterday
It was about doing things daily and weekly to achieve a distant goal
That's what we had yesterday
If I had a pound for everytime I said "each step forward is one step closer to finishing" I'd have about £20
But that's what we focused on!
But along the way were the scary obstacles
The worst by far was the electric shock wires at the end!
They made us stop and almost curtailed our run!
But with an extra push we got through
I got a 10,000V shock to the stomach!
The girls got zapped too
And so will you!
You will have stumbling blocks on the way
The path to success is never straight forward
But we got through it!
One of the biggest reasons was we worked as a team
We were there to support and push each other through the tough times!
Who will be there to support you when things get tough on your journey?
Are the people around you going to support you in success or drive you to failure?
The picture below is one of my favourite sayings
Do you want to go fast or far?

You must have seen the media frenzy about sugar recently (well every day it seems) Well sugar is getting a bad press again! But is it justified? And how easy is it to actually reduce your sugar intake? Is SUGAR really making you FAT?
We are so reliant on mobile phones nowadays most people would rather lose their wallet than their phone
I lost my phone on holiday recently and one of my first thoughts was how am I going to wake up in the morning, I have no alarm!
Sad i know, but it's a perfect example of how attached we are to them
They are so advanced now they literally do everything
Except one thing
The batteries don't last!
